Thank you very much, Antonio, for canceling and for the link.
I tried to understand what you are discussing there and linked it to the german forum.
Ich versteh' aber nur "Bahnhof", sorry.[SM=x420679]
(in english: I don't understand nothing. Maybe I'm too [SM=x420707])
May I ask you for a short summary of the thread's content?

Hi Bern [SM=x420678]

the real problem is that the country we live in seems to be ruled by fakes...but unluckily we always find out that they are not fakes but cruel reality...

more seriously it seems the Parliament (...) has approved a new act that introduce heavy "punishment" to bikers caught in some "dangerous" pose on their bikes...the act includes common sense rules but it also includes things that appear as jokes...for instance the police will have the right to get your bike if you are caught driving with only one arm (maybe while waving other bikers or adjusting your helmet or so on). I know it seems a joke...doesn't it?

Thanks again, Antonio.
By the way: There is a really great picture of a red-and-white CB1300 doing a heavy wheelie in this thread.
Do you mind if I copy it and show it the german colleagues? This picture is that good...it may become our picture of the month. Only if you agree, of course.

"the real problem is that the country we live in seems to be ruled by fakes..."
Sounds a little bit as if you lived in germany...[SM=x420689]

Actually we don't have that rigid laws here. We got others...

So I tell my colleagues that it's not a fake and they have to be extra careful when travelling your beautiful country.

I'm sure you'll find a workaround as you ever did down there in Italy.

Greetings
Bernhard

Antoniooooooooo....
Where are you?
I need your agreement for the candidature for the pic of the month today. Tomorrow will be to late.
If you win you will be the judge for the next month. So come on, the wheelie-pic is favourite...

Bernhard, seriously, I hope that the funny guys up there in the Parliament will thin a bit about this kind of law and will find a decent way out...the law is actually not applicable..it's really too stupid..I think the police too share this opinion...(at least...hopefully..)

For alla about Antonio's pic, I think the copyright is owned by an italian bike magazine, superWheels, if i am right...

Re:
Hello from the windy city

The law basically says that for the following violations the police can definitely and permanently seize your motorcycle, which will then be auctioned:

- if you ride in conditions whereby you cannot "freely use arms and legs"
- if you ride without sitting "in the correct way"
- if you ride withour both hands on the handlebars, or without one hand on the handlebars if you are using the other hand to signal or to operate the bike
- if you do a wheelie
- if you ride with a passenger on a moped which is not allowed to carry two
- if you carry things on your bike which are not securely fastened, which stick out more than 50 cm on the side, or which interfere with your visibility
- if you ride without a helmet, if it is not strapped on, or if it is not euro spec
- if you carry more people or a heavier load than what is indicated in the registration documents

This means that if we wave at each other on the Gottardpass we risk losing our bikes to the Italian state........ so save it for the Swiss side

Ciao a tutti,

Alex

Thats really [SM=x420703] ...

I am also from the German Board and plan to visit Italy in the next two weeks.. Do you know if the law also allows the police to "steel" [SM=x420719] bikes from foreign people?
I have noticed htat during my Dolomiti trip in June - there where much more police controls on the streets than in the previous years...

So anyway: [SM=x420711]

Re:
I don't see why not. The law applies to all vehicles and people circulating on Italian streets.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much. I think if you travel for holiday and don't do anything stupid, like a wheelie in a town centre, you shouldn't have any trouble.
It obviously is a stupid law, and many critics point out it is vague and hard to interpret. If you stretch your legs while riding, or take a hand off the handlebars to scratch your nose, in theory you could have your bike seized, but I think it is aimed at truly dangerous behaviour, and mainly at kids who do crazy stuff on mopeds.
Come to Italy on your bike, you'll have a great time, and if you come to Tuscany come and look me up [SM=x420678] [SM=x420684] .

Ciao,

Alex

Well, I could not imagine, that such a law is legal from the view of the European rights...

But anyway I wouldn't worry - I have never made any bad experience with Italian Police Officers while beeing there with my bike [SM=x420709] [SM=x420718]
Nice Country, nice people, nice roads, nice [SM=x420694]

So I just wait for the weekend having nice sunshine near Bolzano [SM=x420679]

Where is Tuscany ? I usually visit the Valle die Fiemme Region, San Nicola di Ega. There is my favorite hotel...

Have a look:

Yes, its the BolDor [SM=x420720]

I have bought it this years May. Before I had a Sevenfifty.

From the other members of the German Board who have the naked one I know, that the protection against the wind is better on the "S", you can drive up to 160 without couching on the Tank [SM=x420718] , it is still very comfortable then.
And the rear view in the mirrors is really very good, because they are outside located.

And the German Bike magazin "Motorrad" has written, that the high-speed-stability is much better... you can go more than 240 without any oscilliation. But I do not know how the naked feels in this speed region - its just the magazines opinion.

I think these are the main points - but the most important thing is still the same: the ENGINE [SM=x420679] [SM=x420711]

Just to continue this nice international thread:

Thank you, Alex (barrysheene), for the translation and your explanation of the law. We know at least it's not a fake.
Not to take this to serious as you recommended makes it much easier and is probably the best we can do...

Nevertheless Antonios wheelie-pic made it. For four weeks it will be our picture of the month. Look here. Thanks to Antonio or who ever took the pic.

Antonio and me will be jury for the next month and we need to find a way to share the duties.[SM=x420720]

Greetings from Germany
Bernhard

btw: Our forumserver is down and there is a interim forum here. Feel free and invited to visit us.

@Antonio

Hi,
do you remember, Antonio? You and me have to decide, which will be the picture of the month for october at our german CB1300-Site.

You'll find the suggested pics here.
We have to choose from the upper five pics.

This would be my favourite rating:

1. (and pic of the month) "Donner unter der Kuppel": Technisch und gestalterisch sehr fein, Kompliment.
Bedeutungsschwer zwischen Wahl und Nationalfeiertag. Bei solchem Motiv kann die Entscheidung nur demokratisch fallen: Ihr und Antonio wolltet es so.
2. "Toys for boys..." That's what it's all about. (Wäre mein Favorit gewesen als persönliche Hommage an die neueren Bundesländer.)
3. "Auf dem Weg nach Japan...": Guter Ansatz, falsches Schild. Versuch's nochmal und such nach sowas: Moskwa.
4. "Nach 350 km...": Nette Truppe. Wo ist der Schatten, wo der Dom?
5. "Linus auf Abwegen...": Ganz klar Bild des Monats - bei www.bauernstolz.de.

Don't mind the german text. This is just a silly comment.

Do you like this rating? Or do you want me to change something? Let me know please.
I need your answer not later than tomorrow in the late afternoon.

I also owned a SevenFifty years ago![SM=x420678]

I don't think that naked really reaches 240 km/h, anyway the bike seems not to have any oscillation even over 220 km/h read.
But it don't think that those speeds are this bike fields...[SM=x420711]

Now, this is such a good idea! [SM=x420709]
Sorry if it sounds a silly question, but how hard is it to switch to blue light?

I have to admint there's one thing I don't really like about CB 1300, and that's the yellowish instrumentation color.

Hopefully, you just have to change the internal bulbs (or leds)?!

Thank you in advance!
